Business Owners commend Gov. Ayade as State Anti-Tax Brigade foils attempts to extort levie
Officials of the Cross River State Anti-Tax Brigade today, averted attempts by miscreants masquerading as tax collectors to impose illegal levies on small shop owners around the Parliamentary area of Calabar and other suburbs.
The Anti-Tax Brigade acting on intels by concerned members of the public apprehended the perpetrators while trying to impose illegal tax levies despite the tax exemption directive by the His Excellency, Governor Ben Ayade still in force.
Speaking after the action by the crack team of the state Anti-Tax Brigade, physically excited shop owners thanked officials of the brigade for the swift response, while commending Governor Ayade for setting up the State Anti-Tax Agency to implement the “no tax policy’ which according to them, have had tremendous impacts on their businesses.
Chairman of the State Anti-Tax Agency, Bishop (Dr) Emmah Isong reiterating the state government’s commitment to ensuring that small businesses thrive, advised the general public to resist attempts by miscreants to extort monies from them. He called on small business owners who fall under the categories of the tax exemption policy operating in the state to alert the the state Anti Tax Agency through the hotline (07026105177) and other numbers attached herewith for enforcement around the state.
