“Ndi Igbo have faced humiliation in the past months. I just returned from from South East and I had to pass through airports to get to my hometown by road and at each point , you find security agents asking the peace loving Ndi Igbo sons and daughters to come down from their cars or motorcycles to raise their hands to be searched. These are things you cannot find happening in the North East region of the country despite its current war torn situation”
“How long will we continue to suffer this before Ohaneze Ndi Igbo acts and sets thing aright ?”, he asked his visitors .
“It is imperative that a South East consultative meeting of Ndi Igbo meeting is held to discuss these issues and show the world that Ndi Igbo are a peace loving and entrepreneurial people who are not violent. We are not a destructive people and it is not known in out culture so the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo has to rise to the occasion and look into these matters and find the best way to handle and present our own interests to the Federal Government”.
“A lot has been said about Ndi Igbo which are not true and it is time for Ohaneze Ndi Igbo to make a stand and clear these untruths about Ndi Igbo. Ndi Igbo since the Civil war have been accused of being a domineering tribe but in the real sense of it, we are just a people who strive for greatness using our God given talents to develop wherever we find ourselves as residents. This would also help to assure our Igbo youths that Ohaneze Ndi Igbo as the apex body of leadership in Ala Igbo are poised to ensure that their various agitations for inclusiveness and a better and working Nigeria is not to destroy but to build a better future for everyone regardless of tribe or ethnic origin”
