Muslims in Cross River State have been reminded to always live in peace and harmony with their host communities as a way to support the social, political and economic development agenda of the state Government.

Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade on Muslim Affairs, Alhaji Tanimu Hassan gave the charge in his Eid-el-Fitr message to the Muslim Ummah in Cross River State.

He said the thirty days of Ramadan Fast was a spiritual cleansing which the Ummah have used to pray in the over Fourty Mosques spread in the local government areas for peaceful and development of Cross River in Particular and Nigeria in General.

According to the Governor’s aide,
the Department of Muslim Affairs has the mandate to sensitize all the Muslim in the State on peace and unity of Cross River and Nigeria as well as identify with the projects and programmes of the State Government.

“The supplications of the Ummah during the Thirty days fast for the State, our prayer for the Governor and his family will truly be answered and we are sure that Governor Ben Ayade will finish strong at the end of his tenure.

“The Support of His Excellency to the Muslim Community in Cross River State can not be over emphasized and will wish to restate our support to his lofty ideas of taking Cross River to Eldorado despite the low income accrue to the state” he added.

Hassan reminded the faithfuls to adhere to the COVID-19 protocols during the congregation.The use of face mask, hand sanitizer, maintain of personal hygiene and social distancing that guarantee safety and good health during the festive period, he said is a necessity especially during the Eid prayers .
