GOVERNOR WIKE SAYS GOVERNMENT MUST BE ABOUT SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE AS FORMER ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNOR PETER OBI COMMISSIONS ROADS IN RIVERS STATE.
Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has stated that Government is about service to the people as he said only Local Government Chairmen with tangible prove of performance would be accepted for a second tenure under the PDP.
He said the PDP would focus on competence and ensure there is free and fair primaries for the forthcoming LGA elections as the PDP wants to field only people that can positively impact their people and improve the fortune of the party in the 2023 elections.
Speaking at the commisioning of Isiokpo internal roads in Ikwerre LGA of Rivers State Governor Wike said the All Progressive Congress has failed Nigeria as they have not in anyway been able to improve the lives of Nigerians.
He explained that the delivery of the PDP has made it the party of choice in Rivers State as APC and its members from Rivers State have not contributed in any way to the betterment of the state.
He went on to promise the construction of the Omarelu internal roads and the connection of Obodo in Ikwerre LGA to Isiodu in Emuoha LGA as he reveals the state has received the refund of money being owed by the Federal Government.
In his remarks former Governor of Anambra State, H.E Peter Obi who performed the commisioning said he observed that Rivers State under Governor Wike is an example of where public money is being used for public good. He explained that opening roads creates wealth and helps to eradicate poverty.
He called on Nigerians to demand accountability from their leaders and ask the Federal Government to show the capital projects they claim they has made them continuously incurre loans.
