The Six Political Wards Of Ukelle Nation Came Together With Pomp And Pageantry In Celebration Of Her Son, a Professor of Law And The Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration University Of Calabar Prof Michael OKom. The Occasion Was heralded with accolades for Governor Ben Ayade for producing the first female vice chancellor in his dispensation.
Speaking The Former Deputy Chairman People’s Democratic Party Barr. Fidel Ebi Egoro called on the entire Ukelle Nation to embrace love and to be their brother’s keeper. He further described Prof. Okom as a product of capacity who rose to the top by sheer hardwork with flying colours. Adding that Prof. OKom’s elevation is purely divine intervention.He declared also that the gathering was a celebration of God’s Faithfulness for his emergence first as a member of the University Governing Council and The Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration. He admonished the youths in the six political wards of Ukelle Nation to emulate his examplary track records. Adding that Ukelle has not made the significant progress that is expected. He further reiterated that ninety nine percent (99%) of Ukelle youths are actively involved in politics but Ukelle Nation has never produced a member of the house of representatives, a senator, a minister or an ambassador. Noting that politics is rather dividing Ukelle Nation without any political head way. He decried the impassable nature of Ukelle road and he further reemphasized that Ukelle is in chains and Ukelle needs urgent rescue from the State And Federal Government.
The Commissioner for Grants And Economic Development Hon. John Ulafor Enjoined the young Ukelle Population to build capacity in other sphere of influence beyond politics. Noting that the rate at which the youths are concentrating their focus on political affiliation without building the required capacity is alarming. He assured that 2023 will be a year for the political repositioning of Ukelle Nation. He pledged to stand firmly to ensure that Ukelle is effectively represented in all ramifications. He affirmed also that the only factor that will change the narrative for Ukelleans as a people Is the Love Factor. He therefore called on Ukelle youths to have respect for leaders and the constituted authority by conducting themselves properly as change agents.
The Member Representing Yala II State Constituency In The Cross River State House Of Assembly Hon. Cynthia Nkasi posited that one of the greatest challenge the world is faced with Is the fact that people do not know how to celebrate themselves. Adding that you can not give what you don’t have. According to her, for you to be able to celebrate the next person you must learn how to effectively celebrate yourself. She attributed Prof. Michael OKom’s appointment as the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration To God’s Grace. She assured that Ukelle Nation will continue to celebrate him in higher dimensions as he keeps making exploits in the academia. She called on Ukelle Sons and Daughters to continue to show love to one another at all levels. Noting that her emergence as the Member Yala II State Constituency was possible because Ukelle Nation Showed her love. Adding that other progressives will also be celebrated as they consistently make progress by shattering the glass ceilings in their sphere of influence.
The Former Member Of The House Of Assembly Rt. Hon. Mom Olom asserted that Prof. Michael Okom was destined to be great against all odds. Noting that he is Ukelle’s best foot soldier that can be compared to other leaders that are making exploits globally. He further described Prof. Okom as forthright and a material that should be churning out policies for world class organizations in different spheres of influence. Adding that it will be effortless for him to make it to the very top with his level of determination. He admonished all Ukelle Sons And Daughters to exhibit love and celebrate each other.
Speaking Hon. Dan Ugbama A Former Member Of The House Of Assembly gave a goodwill message on behalf of Ukelle Nation. Noting that the kith and kin scattered all over Nigeria and in diapora are proud of Prof. OKom’s academic track records and his glorious journey to the top. Stating that the courage he has always displayed by rising above eminent challenges has paid off tremendously. He avouched that his decision to tenaciously hold on to his conviction has culminated to his rise to the enviable height of Professor Of Law and subsequently Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration Of The University Of Calabar.
He applauded The Vice Chancellor Prof. Florence Banku Obi for her invaluable support in the emergence of Prof Michael Okom as the Deupty Vice Chancellor Administration University Of Calabar. Noting that Ukelle Nation does not take that for granted. He affirmed that Ukelle Nation Will Stand Firmly By Her Administration Every Step Of The Way.
Speaking Chief Martina Odom described Prof. Michael Okom’s appointment as a new dawn for the Ukelle Nation to make God their primary focus in all their deliberations. She reiterated that Ukelle must continue to put her best foot forward in order to appropriate what she deserves in the scheme of things. She declared that the pull them down syndrome that has eaten deep into the fabric of their existence must stop for Ukelle as a Nation To make the required progress in every value chain. She affirmed also that righteousness exalts a nation but sin and evil is a reproach that hinders growth and development.
In his response Prof. Michael Okom noted that there is no practical or efficient way to show love than the massive turnout by his kith and kin for the celebration. He called for the liberation of Ukelle Nation from divisiveness. He admonished them to disagree and still eat from the same table of brotherhood. Noting that Ukelleans has a duty to support any progressive efforts for the general good of Ukelle Nation. Stating emphatically that as a people Ukelle indigenes has to find a way to pursue personal interests without tearing apart the fabric of their commonality.
He expressed gratitude once more to his kith and kin for the way his appointment was received and encouraged them to continue to imbibe the celebration culture as a lifestyle. He further enjoined all concerned to pray for the growth and development of Ukelle Nation. Adding that the way forward is through fostering formidable ways of harnessing value through synergy. He attributed his appointment to God’s Grace and Divine Intervention. Stating That What God Can Not Do Does Not Exist.
The decoration of honour will remain an unforgettable day in the annals of history in Ukelle Nation. The auspicious occasion ended with colourful cultural displays and solemn prayers for the purification of Ukelle Nation.
